Project 4.1
Project 4.1 is a design study for a medical test Castle Bravo hydrogen bomb first. The test serves to trigger the explosion 15 megatons, more than twice the amount expected.
The impact of the blast was made of radioactive poisoning soldiers. As a result, the U.S. did tests to help understand the effects of nuclear weapons. 4.1 The project was created in the U.S. were carried out on the Marshall Islands. They were directed to conduct a nuclear test by dropping radioactive materials from the date of March 1, 1954 at Bikini Atoll of the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific, which was produced devastating effects altogether unexpected. After a decade of project 4.1 is done, the effect began to be seen and correlated with the nuclear tests, the increased miscarriage and fetal death doubling in the first 5 years after the experiment, but then back to normal again. After 10 years, other effects popping, their children suffering from thyroid cancer.
Terrible as the bombing itself, the planned use of humans in a study of the radiation is even more horrible to contemplate. However, here we are 50 years later and the real story of what happened that day, what happened in the days before March 1 and what has happened in the years since March 1, 1954 has not really come out.
The victims Bravo test, including Mayor Matayoshi, whose mother was on Rongelap that horrible day, still looking for justice and peace.
The Energy Department said that the Marshall apparently used in experimental rats was 4.1 project.
